Autumn leaves in the Rockies that are in the west of Canada are rather modest with some yellow leaves in the evergreen leaves. In west Canada, leaves are yellow compared with the scarlet-tinged leaves in east Canada. Leaves of Aspen grow change colors in highland. Aspen belong to the poplar family though it looks like white birch as it has white trunk. Aborigines and old explorers called it "sqoaw's tongue". They compared trembling and buzzing trees to talkative women. We call it "yama narashi" means a rustling mountain. People might have common idea no matter where they live.
