November 19, 2000 "J-Cup, tug-of-war tournament" Joetsu-City, Niigata Prefecture. The 18th J-Cup was held at the gym of Joetsu Region Plaza on November 19. 50 teams from the 50 towns of the city entered for the tournament. Each 5 teams fought a preliminary game then two teams played in the finals. Though the Minami Hon'machi ni-chome team I belonged lost the preliminary game, we will be commended in two years for it will be the 20th entry for us for the tournament. After the game, we enjoyed jump rope. Each team formed with 10 people competed how many times they could jump at a time in a big rope within 2 minutes. The champions were junior high school students who jumped 119 times. Before the closing, the trampoline team from the Nippon Athletic University performed.
