March 12, 2000. Newly completed Tomisato dam Iyomishima, Ehime Prefecture. The Tomisato dam has built in Tomisato, a car takes you there in about 30mins. from the city area of Iyomishima crossing the Mt.Hoko. When the dam was filled with water tentatively and the height reached the "surcharge", the crest gate discharged water. As the gate opens only when the river is flooded or in an emergency, TV reporters and many visitors came and watch "show". Water flowed 20t/sec. powerfully as if skiing down on the slide.

	It is the rare chance to see the discharge from the crest gate.		Surface of the dam It is 454m above sea level.
