January 16, 2000. The 57th ume festival in Atami ume garden Atami city Shizuoka prefecture. Ume(plum) festival was held on the 15th in ume garden, Shizuoka city. As the rain and hot days, the ume tree that flowers early from the 700 trees, the red ume tree and the white ume tree, was the point worthy of the garden. The ume festival will be held until 3/12. On Saturday and Sunday, they will be having many events, which are "koto" play, song shows and dance shows by "geisha". On this they, they had a show of "koto" play and photographing of Miss ume.

	It's the best time to see as it's blooming quite well.
	There are many cafes and shops so you get full just by eating the samples.		Rare ume called "Soshinroubai", has strong smell.
	There is a memory house of Nakayama Shinpei who is a musician in the Taisho period, in the garden.
