November 16, 1999. The clear stream of the Kimo River. Inagawacho, Hyogo Prefecture.

I always feel as though I travelled to the past and get this nostalgic feeling whenever I visit the Kimo River of Inagawacho. The river, a tributary of the Inagawa (the Ina River), is a clear stream. You can enjoy 'amago' fishing as a part of the stream is being stemmed.

Cosmos. At the right hand corner is a part of the motorway which is still in construction. A motorway is going to pass through this quiet, sleepy village of Kimokawa.

'Amago' are being set free into the flow of the Kimo River, in which minerals that were dug from a nearby mine were being washed few hundred years ago. The vacant spaces can be used for roasting the amago you've caught.
