From May 29 to May 30, 1999. Rice Planting Tour from Ogunicho, Niigata Prefecture. In Ogunicho, there has begun a rice paddy ownership system called the 'Green Lease' using the terraced rice paddies. To become an owner, you must sign a contract to lease a 500 square meter paddy for 90,000 yen a year. After t he harvest, three bags of rice are sent to each owner. The 'Koshihikari' b rand of rice in our town with its great taste and popularity is said to riva l Uonuma's 'koshihikari',the king of rice. New owners are recruited every y ear but there are so many applications that they must choose by lottery.

The owner's rice planting tour took place on May 29 to May 30. The owners prepare the rulers for planting. The ruler is called a 'Wakukorogashi'.

The owners who have been through this a number of times are skillfully planting the rice.
